Co-Producing... I Am Because You Are

Bacalao Performance Co. is proud to co-produce this project I am Because You Are

Rastilho Associação Cultural (Lisbon) and Bacalao Performance Company (London and Oslo) present I Am Because You Are, performing at The Etcetera Theatre on Tuesday 26th July and on Thursday 28th July, at 9.30pm, as part of the Edinburgh Preview 2016.

I Am Because You Are is a poetic ensemble which provides a unique setting that opens up for an intimate and authentic experience. It’s an intimate piece created by an international cast. The performers, that never met before, were challenged to share their stories and reflect about dehumanization and the sense of belonging

Rastilho Associação Cultural is a Portuguese company, based in Lisbon since 2001. Is always explored different approaches to engage the audience in site specifics. It has been involved in international theatre festivals in Portugal and Spain with some awards and performed at National Theatre D. Maria II, in Lisbon, having success in Spain in the international festival MITE.

Maria II (Portugal) and Teatro Principal (Spain), Award Winner Playwright with the play "Pinocchio & Red Riding Hood", published in 2005 and performed at Teatro da Trindade and Teatro da Politécnica (Portugal), Assistant Director of João Mota (who worked with Peter Brook) at National Theatre D. Maria II (2012-2013, Portugal).
